SPIRITUAL BALANCE

The Powerful Words

of a Little Girl

There was a dad of a young family who got involved with drugs.  He had a little girl that loved him very much, but saw him when he was doped up.  One night, the man asked Jesus into his heart.  Jesus changed the dad immediately and the family situation, of course, changed.  The little girl was so thrilled that she wanted to tell everybody about Jesus.  So instead of standing on the street corner, screaming at people about Jesus (which would have turned the people off), she came up with another plan.  She would have her dad lift her up and sit her on his shoulders in crowds of people---like elevators.  When everybody was quite, she would say, “Dad, do you want me to tell them, or do you want to tell them?”  His planned response would be, “Honey, it doesn’t matter—do you want to tell them, or do you want me to tell them?”  This went back and forth, until the people didn’t not care who told, they just wanted to know what it was that they needed to know according to this little girl and her dad.

Finally, when the suspense was at its height, the little girl would say, “My dad used to do drugs, but he met Jesus and now he does not do drugs anymore.”  That was it!  One sentence that many times changed the life of the one listening.

One day, the little girl got sick with a rare form of cancer.  As her dad and mother knelt beside her bed holding her hand, she took her last breath.  Soon, the hospital staff came and rolled her away—her mother hysterical, her dad numb.  Some friends helped the mother out of the room while the dad just stood there.  He realized that he was so caught up in the moment of watching her last breath, he forget to tell her good-bye.  So he ran out of the room, down several flights of stairs and saw a woman guarding a big metal door.  He asked if he could go inside and see his little girl.  She kindly opened the door and his baby was lying on a cold, steel table, right inside the door.  He walked over and picked her up, laid her head on his chest and crying, told her good-bye and to please tell Jesus her dad loved Him.  As he said this, there was a loud noise at the door.  The dad turned around and saw the woman who had been guarding the door obviously upset and puzzled.  She said, “I see families come in here everyday to see their loved ones on a cold table, screaming at God, angry because He had done this, taken their loved one from them.  And you, I do not understand this.  You are holding your baby, loving on her, telling her to tell Jesus you love Him, and you are so peaceful, not angry at all.  How could this be?  The dad looked at his little girl and said quietly, “Baby, do you want to tell her, or do you want me to tell her?”  At that, the woman came to the dad and he explained what the statement meant.  Right there, on a cold, cement floor, the woman and the dad, holding his baby girl, knelt down, and the woman asked this precious Jesus, who gave peace instead of anger, to come into her heart.  She was never the same again.

I SURRENDER ALL
All to Jesus, I surrender
All to Him, I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender
Humbly at His feet I bow
Worldly pleasures all forsaken
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender
Make me Savior ,wholly thine
May Thy Holy Spirit fill me
May I know Thy power divine.

I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all!

We all search for meaning and purpose in life.  There are many people that grew up in church, knowing all of the right answers, but feeling empty inside.  We were one of these people.  We, both,  grew up in the church and were very involved in our church activities.  But that did not quench this desire for meaning and purpose, and it did not fill us with joy and contentment.  For years, we felt like we were on a treadmill, walking through life on autopilot, going through the motions, but empty inside.  There HAD TO BE MORE to life than this, but we did not know the answer or even where to look.  We were so tired from being on this treadmill and had no energy left.  We were tired of fascades and shallow relationships, tired of living in fear, trusting no one, being a prisoner to ourselves.

After many painful experiences, we both came to a place where we began to cry out to God for answers.  The Bible says, “Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, you do not know.”  Jeremiah 33:3  Thank goodness, God is true to His Word.  If we cry out to Him, He promises that He will show us things we do not know, He will give us answers.  This sincere prayer, in a painful moment, began the journey that fills our lives everyday with a peace that surpasses understanding.  We gave our heart to the Lord, and He took it and made lemonade out of lemons.  He loved us and took us just where we were.  We did not have to clean up "our act" before He would take us. He wiped our slates clean and allowed us the priviledge, with His help and direction, to start over.  He has given us the life that we so desired, but could not attain on our own.

The following words are from Dr. Billy Graham, who gave his life to help others find God's plan.  Therefore, we could not think of anyone that could communicate this  plan for all of us to have peace and purpose.  Whether you are a Christian or someone who is seeking more out of this life, please meditate on these words and let God speak to you.

Gods Purpose:Peace and Life

God loves you and wants you to experience peace and life—abundant and eternal.

The Bible says ...

"We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." —Romans 5:1 (NIV)

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." —John 3:16 (NIV)

"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." —John 10:10 (NIV)

Why don't most people have this peace and abundant life that God planned for us to have?

The Problem:Our Separation

God created us in His own image to have an abundant life. He did not make us as robots to automatically love and obey Him. God gave us a will and a freedom of choice.  We chose to disobey God and go our own willful way. We make this choice every day. This is called sin and results in separation from God.

The Bible says ...

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." —Romans 3:23 (NIV)

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." —Romans 6:23 (NIV)

People have tried in many ways to bridge this gap between themselves and God ...

The Bible says ...

"But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear." —Isaiah 59:2 (NIV)

No bridge reaches God ... except one.

Gods Bridge:The Cross

Jesus Christ died on the Cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God and you.

The Bible says ...

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ."
—1 Timothy 2:5 (NIV)

"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."
—1 Peter 3:18 (NIV)

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
—Romans 5:8 (NIV)

God has provided the only way. Each person must make a choice.

Our Response:Receive Jesus

We must trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive Him by personal invitation.

You do this by simply believing and asking Him to come into your heart.  It will be the best decision you ever made.

The Bible says ...

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will
come in and eat with him, and he with me."
—Revelation 3:20 (NIV)

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to
become children of God."
—John 1:12 (NIV)

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised
Him from the dead, you will be saved."
—Romans 10:9 (NIV)

Where are you?

Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?

Here is how you can receive Jesus:

·                Admit your need (I am a sinner).

·                Be willing to turn from your sins (repent).

·                Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.

·                Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit.

THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF A NEW JOURNEY!!  A LIFE FILLED WITH PEACE AND PURPOSE!!  WELCOME TO GOD’S FAMILY!!!
